AreoPress

November 8, 2008

My brother bought me a new type of coffee making apparatus for my birthday this year. It’s called an AreoPress. It works on the same concept of an Espresso Maker. The water is heated to a very precise 175 degrees Fahrenheit, coffee ground very fine, stir for 10 seconds, and plunge immediately. The combination of 175 degree water, very little time for the coffee to sit in the water, and steady pressure creates a cup of coffee with very little bitterness, 1/5 the acidity of normal coffee, and wonderful flavor. There is quite a bit of science packed into this little press.

First go to Amazon and buy an Areopress

Fifth, depending on how much coffee you want, select 1, 2, 3, or 4 scoops of unground coffee, grind and put in AreoPress on top of filter, fill with water to the number corresponding to the number of scoops of coffee, and stir for 10 seconds

Sixth, press immediately using steady, slow pressure

Seventh, remove the filter guard, and press grounds directly in to the trash can, rinse press, and enjoy your espresso plain, add hot water to create an Americano, add milk to make a latte, or do whatever you want with it… but regardless, prepare to enjoy one of the best cups of coffee you will ever have!
